The DIY Bride

A frequently asked question we get from brides-to-be is “what can I do to save money?” How about some DIY for your shower or wedding?

Here are some tips and tricks for the DIY bride.

· Give yourself time

Don’t wait until the week before your wedding to make those cute favors.

· Find unique ideas

You might have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest, but it’s a great resource for DIY brides. Instructables.com is another good place to find inspiration. Don’t forget to look on YouTube for helpful video tutorials.

· Gather your tribe

Making 10 jars of sugar scrub for your bridal shower is easy. Making 50, however, is another story! Get together with your bridal party or family members who would like to help, order some pizza, drink some wine, and put on the movie 27 Dresses. You’ll get them knocked out in no time.

· Get organized

Have all of your supplies ready for the DIY extravaganza. Create an assembly line situation to help keep things running smoothly.

· Know your limitations

Some people don’t enjoy DIY (gasp), or don’t think they are “crafty”. Start with what you enjoy or what fits your skillset. Don’t expect to know everything (Google is your friend). If you don’t have time to learn how to make something (and make it well), leave it to the professionals!
